New Austin-based web startup backed by successful serial entrepreneur seeks a talented web application engineer to design and build an intelligent consumer-focused communication system using Python, RoR, or PHP. Chose your tool wisely, you’ll be neck deep in code 40-60 hours a week. As senior engineer, you will be asked to push the limits in development speed and architectural robustness to build solid, scaleable, and flexible solution while working in a team of 3, which includes an Objective-C software engineer and user experience expert.

Salary is competitive for an early-stage startups and ranges from $35-50k based on experience. Responsibilities

• Create the technical design based on research
• Create estimates for completing development assignments, and work with the project manager to create and commit to a project scheduled
• Develop software within the designed architecture, to specification, according to the project schedule
• Understand the needs of the business and work with the project manager to inform him of functional design and schedule tradeoffs
• Prepare system for deployment

• Design, develop and document API

Skills and Education

• Database design and development
• Experience with modern software architectures and principles
• Objectively evaluates new technology and languages

• Bachelor’s degree

• Experience with app level networking and web services (SOAP, REST, XML-RPC)
