Dash in six minutes

February 17 2009, 3:41pm

Once you’ve signed up for Dash, the first thing you’ll want to do is create a new application and instrument it with Dash. It’s an easy process that takes less than ten minutes.

If you haven’t started with Dash or got stuck somewhere, please to enjoy this brief screencast (.m4v) showing it’s a quick, easy process:

<object height="385" width="480"><param></param><param></param><param></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FM4KqLz8gZQ&#38;hl=en&#38;fs=1&#38;rel=0" height="385" width="480"></embed></object>

The steps will vary depending on what kind of app you’re working with (Rails, Python, Sinatra, etc.), but the amount of effort is the same1. Once you’ve got your app reporting to Dash, you can go about creating your own custom reports or building custom metrics for your app.

As we like to say in the FiveRuns Campfire, go forth and measure!

1 I’m told it takes longer for Java. So it goes.
